An after-work lap of Landmine Loop from Blue Diamond: gentle climb out west, rolling desert singletrack back as the escarpment lights up.
Red Rock Backcountry
Bikes in Red Rock Canyon NCA stay on roads and designated trails, and wilderness hems in nearly everything else, so the riding here is rough dirt-road adventure: Rocky Gap over the escarpment and the Forest Service roads of Lovell Canyon behind it. Big climbs, big views, few people. ↓ trailhead flyer (PDF)
Gap Grind
Leave the Scenic Drive behind and grind up Rocky Gap Road to Red Rock Summit, then rattle back down the way you came.
West Summerlin / Bear's Best
A big tangle of desert singletrack behind the old Bear's Best golf course, right where Tropicana runs out of road. Unsigned, close to town, and shrinking as the houses move west, so ride it while it's here. ↓ trailhead flyer (PDF)
Big Top
Up The Circus, around through Hidden Canyon and back down. The friendliest loop off Mesa Park.
Mt Charleston Trails
Pine and bristlecone singletrack at 6,500 to 9,000 ft in Kyle and Lee Canyons, 45 minutes from the Strip and 20 to 30 degrees cooler. The summer escape; snowed in most winters. ↓ trailhead flyer (PDF)

Southwest Valley Edge
Open BLM desert where Mountains Edge and Southern Highlands run out of houses: old quarry roads, the Union Trails hills and the Southwest Ridge spine off NV-160. Low, hot and exposed, so it is a cool-season place. ↓ trailhead flyer (PDF)
Rainbow Gardens / Frenchman Mountain
Banded red, white and green badlands tucked behind Frenchman Mountain on the valley's east edge. It is BLM land where bikes stay on the approved dirt roads, so expect wide desert tracks, not singletrack. ↓ trailhead flyer (PDF)
