Dinner Bell
Let JEM run downhill for four fast miles, then spin back up the gentle grade of Dead Ringer.
Your timesno timed runs yet
Ride mode times every run on its own: the clock starts when you roll out of the start and stops at the finish, with splits at each marked spot. Leave Ride mode on between laps and it re-arms when you're back at the start. Times stay on this phone.

Getting there
Park at Jem Trailhead (BLM)
Off UT-59 about 5 mi southeast of Hurricane, UT: turn left on the cinder road and go 0.25 mi
- BLM lot with a vault toilet, bike repair stand and map kiosk. Fine for any car when dry, but BLM warns roads off UT-59 may not be passable when wet.
- Start and finish are the same spot. Follow the cue sheet and the arrows on the map.

Know before you go
- This is the flowiest ride here: smooth, fast desert singletrack with small rock ledges. The 700 ft of climbing comes as a gentle grind on Dead Ringer.
- The top of JEM is downhill-only for bikes. Ride it northbound as routed, never back up it. Dead Ringer is the designated climb back.
- The last 0.4 mi follows a piece of More Cowbell into the trailhead.
- No shade and no water on the trail. Skip it after rain: these trails are moisture sensitive and BLM asks riders to stay off when wet.
Ride smart
- Water: plan on about 1 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
- Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
- Emergency: call 911 and say "Dinner Bell ride, parked at Jem Trailhead (BLM), Hurricane, Utah", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
- Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
- Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
