Even Steven
The Tahoe Rim Trail south from Tahoe Meadows: across the meadow, past the Tyrolian junction and along the high ridge with Lake Tahoe below, then back the way you came.
Your timesno timed runs yet
Ride mode times every run on its own: the clock starts when you roll out of the start and stops at the finish, with splits at each marked spot. Leave Ride mode on between laps and it re-arms when you're back at the start. Times stay on this phone.

Know before you go
- Even days only: land managers ask mountain bikers to ride the Rim Trail between Tahoe Meadows and Tunnel Creek Road only on even-numbered calendar days. Ride this on the 2nd, 4th, 6th and so on, and pick another ride on odd days.
- Go south from the trailhead only. The Rim Trail north toward Relay Peak and Mount Rose enters the Mount Rose Wilderness and is closed to bikes, and the Tahoe Meadows Interpretive Loop and the Christopher's Loop and Herlan Peak spur are closed to bikes too.
- E-bikes are not allowed on this part of the Rim Trail.
- Starts near 8,700 ft and rolls between about 8,400 and 8,800 ft, with roughly 1,650 ft of climbing round trip. Turn around sooner if the altitude is getting to you. Afternoon thunderstorms are common in summer.
- Busy with hikers near the trailhead. Slow down and yield.
Ride smart
- Water: plan on about 1.5 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
- Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
- Emergency: call 911 and say "Even Steven ride, parked at Tahoe Meadows Trailhead, North and East Shore, Lake Tahoe", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
- Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
- Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
