Know before you go

  • Ride it as drawn: the climb is Blombi and LVOC heading west, and G-Thang is one-way eastbound (downhill).
  • Blombi, LVOC and G-Thang wiggle constantly over small rises, so the climb total reads high; top to bottom is about 1,200 ft.
  • Everything here stays south of the Red Rock NCA line and west of the new construction, but the edges move fast. Obey any fence or posted sign over this map.
  • No shade, no water, no signs. Carry more water than you think for 17 miles.
  • Skips Happy Ending on purpose: Trailforks (checked Oct 8, 2026) lists it as downhill-only and double black.

Ride smart

  • Water: plan on about 2.5 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
  • Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
  • Emergency: call 911 and say "Back Nine ride, parked at Mesa Park, West Summerlin / Bear's Best", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
  • Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
  • Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
