Your timesno timed runs yet
Ride mode times every run on its own: the clock starts when you roll out of the start and stops at the finish, with splits at each marked spot. Leave Ride mode on between laps and it re-arms when you're back at the start. Times stay on this phone.

Know before you go
- The Mammoth Rock Trail is narrow singletrack cut across a steep slope, on a mix of rock, firm soil and sand. The Town lists a 7% typical grade with a few short steeper spots. Walk anything that feels sketchy.
- About a quarter mile each way is on upper Old Mammoth Road, a paved road with light traffic, between the top of the Mammoth Rock Trail and the Panorama Dome trails.
- The Panorama loop sits at the edge of the Lakes Basin near Lake Mary Road. Stay on the dirt bike loop; the paved Lakes Basin Path next to it is busy with walkers.
- This ride sits between about 7,850 and 8,850 ft. The Town suggests riding the Mammoth Rock Trail before the heat of the day or in the late afternoon, and summer afternoon thunderstorms are common in the Sierra.
- Shared with hikers and horses. Yield on the descent and slow down at blind corners. E-bikes are not allowed on Inyo National Forest non-motorized trails.
Ride smart
- Water: plan on about 1 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
- Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
- Emergency: call 911 and say "Rock and Dome ride, parked at Mammoth Rock Trailhead (Sherwin Creek Rd), Mammoth Lakes, California", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
- Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
- Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
