Your timesno timed runs yet
Ride mode times every run on its own: the clock starts when you roll out of the start and stops at the finish, with splits at each marked spot. Leave Ride mode on between laps and it re-arms when you're back at the start. Times stay on this phone.

Know before you go
- Ride it clockwise: the west leg of Pinyon Pine loses about 1,000 ft heading north, and the east leg climbs it back at a steady grade. Most of the 1,600 ft of climbing is in the second half.
- Mostly smooth dirt singletrack through pinyon and juniper, with a few short loose and rocky pitches. Trail junctions are poorly signed, so load the GPX.
- Stay off the Mud Springs Loop and Red/Green trails west of the trailhead. The Forest Service map marks Mud Springs as hiking and horses only.
- Rideable roughly May through November, sometimes longer at 6,500 to 7,600 ft. Sawmill is a free day-use site with toilets and no water.
Ride smart
- Water: plan on about 1.5 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
- Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
- Emergency: call 911 and say "Pinyon Spin ride, parked at Sawmill Trailhead (upper lot), Mt Charleston Trails", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
- Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
- Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
