Tumbleweed
A gentle out-and-back up Badger Pass, the smoothest climb in the valley, with an easy coast home. Turn around wherever the legs say so.
Your timesno timed runs yet
Ride mode times every run on its own: the clock starts when you roll out of the start and stops at the finish, with splits at each marked spot. Leave Ride mode on between laps and it re-arms when you're back at the start. Times stay on this phone.

Know before you go
- Badger Pass is rated easy to easy/intermediate: a steady 4% average climb on smooth singletrack, about 700 ft to the top over 3 mi.
- It is an out-and-back, so kids or new riders can turn around at any point and the ride home is downhill.
- Stop at the top. The switchbacks beyond it drop toward 3 Mile Smile and are a step up in difficulty.
- Zero shade. Go early, carry more water than you think, and watch for faster riders descending. Legal basis: BLM-designated Cottonwood Valley system; restrooms at the Late Night lot.
Ride smart
- Water: plan on about 1 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
- Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
- Emergency: call 911 and say "Tumbleweed ride, parked at Late Night Trailhead, Blue Diamond / Cottonwood Valley", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
- Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
- Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
