Wild Pony
Gentle singletrack loop from Late Night with a dip down Lil' Daytona and an easy dirt-road spin back.
Your timesno timed runs yet
Ride mode times every run on its own: the clock starts when you roll out of the start and stops at the finish, with splits at each marked spot. Leave Ride mode on between laps and it re-arms when you're back at the start. Times stay on this phone.

Know before you go
- The outer ring is the beginner loop riders call Mustang / Late Night: low grades, about 3.9 mi on its own. Trail markers are posted but spurs are everywhere, so keep the GPX open.
- The Lil' Daytona out and back adds the fun part. Down is fast and smooth, the climb back on Black Velvet Access Road is wide dirt with a steady grade.
- Sandy and washed-out spots in the low drainages. No shade at all; ride early from May to September.
- Legal basis: Cottonwood Valley is a BLM-promoted mountain bike system inside Red Rock Canyon NCA, outside the Scenic Loop fee area.
Ride smart
- Water: plan on about 1 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
- Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
- Emergency: call 911 and say "Wild Pony ride, parked at Late Night Trailhead, Blue Diamond / Cottonwood Valley", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
- Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
- Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
