Wash Out
Roll down Lovell Wash Road toward the Pahrump side on Forest Service dirt, then earn every foot back to the car.
Your timesno timed runs yet
Ride mode times every run on its own: the clock starts when you roll out of the start and stops at the finish, with splits at each marked spot. Leave Ride mode on between laps and it re-arms when you're back at the start. Times stay on this phone.

Know before you go
- Out and back, downhill first: about 1,200 ft lost on the way out that you climb back on tired legs. Turn around early if the day is getting hot.
- All dirt road, mostly firm with sharp rocks and sandy wash crossings. No singletrack, and you will share it with jeeps and side-by-sides on weekends.
- Forest Service land: bikes are allowed on roads outside wilderness unless signed otherwise. Do not cut onto the hiking trails up the canyon, which are wilderness.
- Free parking, no permit. Lovell Canyon is popular with target shooters; wear something bright.
Ride smart
- Water: plan on about 2 L for this ride. There's none on the trail.
- Signal is spotty. Tell someone your route and your time back.
- Emergency: call 911 and say "Wash Out ride, parked at Lovell Wash pullout, Red Rock Backcountry", plus the coordinates from Locate me.
- Wildlife: give horses, burros and anything with horns room, and never feed them.
- Stay on trail. Desert crust and mountain soil take decades to heal.
