A practice built
around the work.
B2 is an engineering and research practice. We design, build, and ship software and physical products for the people who actually use them.
What we do
We take on projects across three areas that tend to feed each other: product development, design and engineering, and applied research. Most engagements move fluidly between them — a product starts as a research question, becomes a working prototype, and eventually ships as a real thing with real customers.
The work spans software, hardware, and 3D. Backends and web applications. Mechanical design and CAD. Automation, tooling, and applied AI. We're selective about what we take on, but wide in what we're capable of.
How we work
Small engagements, tight loops, senior hands on every part of the work. We prefer conversations that begin with "here's what I'm trying to do" over conversations that begin with a brief. We bias toward shipping — nothing learns as fast as a working prototype in front of a real user.
We don't sell retainers, pad scope to fit a budget, or stay on a project once the hard part is over and a team can carry it themselves. We'd rather finish a small thing than orbit a large one.
What we care about
Software and products that do one thing well. Systems that respect the people using them. Honest conversations about trade‑offs, timelines, and the parts that aren't working yet. Finishing — we care a great deal about finishing.
